Most people go with full length. The upper flange and tube portion of the different lengths of headers are similar, the lower portion is where manufacturers differ even among full length styles. Below are photo's of DynoMax and Hooker, you'll notice that Dynomax are a few inches shorter and have a slight ground clearance advantage. Other than the length, installation and clearances are similar.
