Default HELP!! Clock fix needed ASAP

I am trying to repair the clock from my 76.
Alright, I followed the threads on removing and filing the contacts.
The oscillating wheel moves fine and works to the point of the contacts
meeting each other again, however, with power to the clock the contacts do not separate and continue working.
What needs to be done/looked at to repair??
Is the clock a lost cause if power does not change it??

There is a tiny coil that energizes and creates a magnetic field that pulls the points open, see the hair fine red wires? If that coil is "open" then you are S.O.L., try testing it with an ohm-meter for continuity. If it has any resistance at all I would say it is good. Are you testing the clock with a 9 volt (transistor radio style) battery? my battery died after one night of keeping the clock running, but the clock tested good.
Maybe your battery is NFG. Also, did you oil the little pedulum wheel pivot points? I used the oil from my electric shaver. It takes just under 60 seconds for the clock to wind down before the points open again. If the pendulum wheel hangs up, clean and oil it again. I had to do mine 2-3 times before it ran consistently. I used lighter fluid to clean my clock, just liberally squirt it on all the moving parts, it will evaporate quickly, then use the light machine oil. Good luck!
