Default Need Firewall Insulation

What is better to use for new firewall insulation. The factory rug type has been chewed to s**t by mice and nasty rodents. Besides the rug being about $250 new, would something like Dynomat be a better alternative? Anyone else have to replace this during their restoration?

Thanks

Follow my previous Fat-Mat post showing how I am doing mine....using jute insulation over the Fat-Mat and on the fire-wall, like the factory did. Jute is cheap at carpet/upholstery shops.

Just paid $173 for my carpet set from Wilcox (with jute pad).
However, this doesn't come with the rubber backed jute that the
factory put on the firewall.
I live in the cooler section of the country, so for my firewall, I only used
the self-adhesive Frost-king duct insulation (1/8" thick foam with foil backing).

I used Cool-it (basicly the same as dynomat, fat mat, etc) backed up by Reflectix. Be sure to liberally use the Reflectix metal tape. (Look in the AC section of HD or Lowes, generic metal tape is cheaper than Reflectix brand).

Great info, thanks everyone. I've never heard of the reflectix before, the others yes, so I'll have to look it up. Where is the cheapest place for this all stuff?

You can get the Reflectix at ACE Hardware, Lowe's, etc.

Here is a pic of Dynamat Extream... We installed it on every square inch of the interior. On top of that (in the rear) is Jute. In on front we layed Lytherm Max.
http://www.coolandquiet.com/products_detail.cfm?PID=1 Kind of pricie, but very nice...no heat what so ever... Oh, and the second pic is Zero Clearance which we installed on the outside... (same website) Kool & Quiet
