Default "while im at it kicked in"

decided to put back my speedo minus the Tach until i can get it fixed.
"while i was at it" since i had the steering wheel off i decided to clean and dye it also cleaned up the horn contact buttons.
horn blows first time every time now.

here's the wheel progression

cleaning with spray nine and scrubby

clean and ready for dye

dying with VHT interior dye

wheel dyed with 2 coats and aluminum cleaned

wheel back on car

what do you think?

WOW you guessed my profession, you are an amazingly astute
person. i bet you were so bright as a kid your dad called you SON.

on top of that just a tip for you.
oils/sweat from your hands will not allow dye or paint to adhere to leather/vinyl/metal/plastic or any other surface.
so whenever im painting or dying something that i want the finish to last on. YES, i will wear nitrile gloves and look like a pansy rather then take a chance and have to do it all over again.

they don't have to match in my profession so long as a glove doesn't break.

Might be little late to tell you, but i really think he was joking. Why do people let such small things overwhelm them to the point they loose their sense of humor? Im also sure your reply wont make things any better. Always has to be one in every group.

makes you wonder why some people even post. Too bad we cant be one nice big family. If you dont like whats said, just move on. Guess i should have done the same.

The niceness of how your steering wheel turned out, is now over shadowed by your response.

plus you keep the dye / harsh cleaner off your hands

I use them too - get a freebie box at work from time to time. We use them to keep asphalt emulsion off our hands - mine are purple

over shadowed by my response? i don't think my response was bad
and i found it to be as humorous as his.

"so bright your dad called you son" "bright/sun" get it?

whats wrong with that?

and then to let everyone know exactly why i wear the gloves i felt was a pointer not a personal dig.
i know a lot of people that wouldn't think anything of trying to paint/dye a part after handling it with bare hands then 2 months from now wonder why the item started to flake and then bit*h because they have to do it all over again.

personally i don't see what was wrong with my response and i stick by it

I expect a simple mis-interpretation of humor as negative sarcasm...

wheel looks great. Where the heck do you find the time for "while I'm at it" that ends up reassembled and back on the road!

the boy and I got out on the highway last night for a circuit with the tops off...joy!
