Default just my luck

Took the 78 silver aniversary to a local car show. It was about 30 mile drive and wouldn't you know it a car passed me while I was merging on to e-way. He ran over a poece of steel and it hit the nose of my car gouging the heck out of it. It could have be worse I guess, at least it didn't come through windshield. So back to the body shop.

Thats too bad. I hope the repair cost isn't to expensive.
We have a big problem in Texas with contractors driving pickup trucks pulling overloaded trailers full of debris. They don't usually have a tail gate on the truck or the trailer. Stuff is falling off of them all over the interstate. Two weekends ago during the Republic of Texas motorcycle rally a fiberglass shower fixture fell off the back of a truck taking out a pack of riders. Lots of casualties.
There seems to be no accountability for irresponsibility. As long as I have lived & worked in the Austin area I have never seen or known of a police officer ticketing anyone for unsecure load.

But yesterday I found a pefectly good 70 camaro grill on the side of the road. Just had to stop and pick it up. I think I'll hang it on my garage wall.
Sorry about your vette.

the state of Washington cracks down hard. Especially in Summer. They have the "commercial vehicle enforcement" cars out pulling businesss vehicles over all the time for overloads and unsecured loads. Cops will pull people over if they see stuff sticking out of the truck beds or loose on trailers. It's nice to see. Around here there are a lot of new housing developments and major road work creating construction debris and rocks on the roads. I get scared every time I pull the car out of the garage.
