Do yourself a favor and rent/borrow a cherrypicker. If you pick it up with a come-along off the rafters, what will you do with it then?

I have had mine out more times then I care to know. It is in a standard 2 car garage, my ceiling is high but that would not be an issue. Get a engine hoist. Beg borrow or rent one. Without this it will be a real chore.

Twice, in a one car garage both times.
I ended up buying a engine hoist for like $160 from Autozone. With rentals going for $35 a day, it has easily paid for itself.

My son and I just pulled the motor out and used a regular cherry-picker.
