You can always take the hood off if it doesn't fit, but it will probably be a real pain each time you have to take it off/put it on.

Whenever you are doing something like spark plugs and have some you can easily reach from the top and others from the bottom then it sure is handy to be able to raise w/ the hood open...also w/ overhead lighting when working under the car and looking up in the engine bay it can be handly to have some overhead light coming down instead of working with a light from underneath.

Nearly impossible question to answer.

Each manufacturer has a spec for their lift. IF you want to put the "top car" up to the highest point, the height of the car is a factor.

I have nearly 11 feet, BUT I had my BIL in the construction biz raise the center section of my ceiling another 14 inches, so the convertible top fits into the recess.

Even doing this, I can't put the top car all the way up. It's on the next to the top notch. Chuck

I'm asking this, because we're looking at building an auxilary garage. There is a cost difference depending on ceiling height. The quote we're getting is for 14', which should be plenty, right?

Should be OK. Log onto some manufacturers websites, or give them a call and get their brochures.

Depends on if you want to be able to get it all the way up so you can "nearly" stand under the car on top.

Bottom line with a Corvette. Most are about 55 inches "tall". Times 2 cars is 110 inches.

Then, you've got about 4 inches height of the ramp.

You're up to 114 inches. Then, you need 3-4 inches extra to unlatch the pawls. You're up to 118 inches, or about 10 feet.

BUT, THAT'S IF there is absolutely NO room between the 2 stacked cars. Add another foot or so to give you some wiggle room, and you're up to 11 foot + minimum.

I have a Superior 4 poster and love it. Chuck
