I want to buy a crate engine for my 1981. I am looking for what they call the Universal 350. Does anyone have some suggestions on where to purchase a crate engine? TIA
I'd go to G.M. performance parts, or someplace that aint fly-by-night, some G.M. dealers will treat you better then others, it saves wear and tear on the nervous system if any problems arise,,,
GOOD LUCK, Peace,,,Moosie
Richie, haven't heard from you in a while-wondered if you were still out there...two years ago I converted my Silver '75 "driver" coupe to a 4spd car. In doing so, I also replaced my original, but tired 205hp L-82 engine with that GM 1973-1985 Direct Replacement 260hp 4 bolt main 350ci for $1287. Got it from Jim Pace Pontiac Dealership in Niles, Ohio. It is a long block assembly and includes the correct style oil pan(and turned the right way for Corvette). Everything is a direct and perfect bolt up. I used my valve covers, water pump, intake, exhaust manifolds, alternator, distributor, carburetor, starter, fuel pump, flywheel, etc. Got over 7,000mi on her now and she ain't skipped a beat yet!!! Best $1287 I ever spent...
