has anyone dealt with this company? if so how was it? good product? reasonable prices? im in the middle of a frame off restoration and will neew ALOT of parts. theres a local corvette shop here in town but im betting they are buying the product from corvette america and marking up the price. any comment is a good comment! thanks.
Believe it or not I buy a lot of parts from Wilcox and they are cheaper than Corvette America on a lot of stuff AND the parts are drop shipped from Corvette America. I have no idea how they do it.
You can also check with venders on these forusm, a lot will match prices to get your business.
I have dealt with Corvette Central mostly. Seem to have good prices when compared to other mail order parts companies....Never had any problems with the stuff i have bought and shipping is very fast for my area. Go online and get yourself some catalogs from the various companies. Most of them will send you a free catalog then you can compare for yourself and shop around for the best deals.
I too have bought numerous items from Willcox and have been VERY please. All of their products come from Corvette America, but are less expensive than C.A.'s prices.
I find that Corvette parte vendors tend to be like the Home Depot's and Lowes of the world. Each will have the market cornered on the lowest price for a particular part (Wilcox has this rep with carpet sets), and they will be more expensive on others.
If you are ordering a lot of parts, customer service should be one of your highest priorities. There is nothing more frustrating than trying to return a bad part and having a friendly company on the other end of the phone makes life that much easier.
I personally have dealt with many of them and have only had to return product to Corvette Central. They wre every courteous, sent a shipping label and made the process easily.
I have dealt with Corvette America on alot of parts over the last year or so since I bought my 74. They are pricing on some, and some they are not. The only problem I have with them is that no one over there seems to know anything. Lately I have been doing business with Doc Rebuild and Wilcox and I have nothing bad to say on either.
When i lived in WV, i bought from Corvette America all the time, because i usually got it in 2 days. They have great customer service, and i always thought their stuff was the best quality. If anyone else i'd from it would be Paragon...so yes, CA is definitelly cool
Corvette Central has some stuff that I have not seen other places,
like skins for restoring your dash pad and door panels.
Also, they have NQP (not quite perfect) pieces to save $$.
In the past, I have purchased much of my resto parts from ZIP ... never dissapointed.
I bought a bunch of stuff over the winter from Corvette America and had no promblems.I also have used Paragon and Corvette Central and had no promblems with them either.
Mike Dyer (Tracdogg2) and his wife run this business and he is very knowledgeable about parts - he knows all the ins and outs about the good vs. the bad replacement parts. He will also personally answer questions about anything that he sells. Personally I like dealing with those kinds of businesses.
I recently bought an entire interior for my 77 from Wilcox. They were the cheapest price I found by far. Every single piece had a Corvette America sticker on them and was drop shipped from corvette america. I asked Norm at Wilcox about this and he told me that they were CA's oldest and largest distributor and get volume pricing accordingly. They have been great to deal with and the product looks good.
