Default Voltage troubles ---> LOL (pic)

So I have a brand new battery, in perfect working order (I know this), and I just couldn't hold a charge. Maybe my Alternator is bad, right? As i'm taking the alternator out to be tested, I find this:

Damn wires just fell apart; 32 years of corrosion. Needless to say, I took the alternator out and it was also in perfect working order. Time to replace some wires!

Wow! Looks like you have a little "trace and inspect" weekend coming up under your hood.

Don't touch the valve cover. You should know what happens when you start on little minor repair and then next thing you know the body is off the frame. Wait til winter !!!

A leaky valve cover is the first step to a complete engine rebuild. And that leads to a body-off.

True ... and it doesn't really look to be leaking much.
I say try 1/8 turn on the bolts. If still leaking, winter project.
