Most recommend purchasing an aftermarket instrument bezel to install your new radio in because you'll have to cut the bezel for the radio to fit. The original bezel is "original" so most do not want to cut it. You can purchase a bezel with a DIN opening already cut but they're much more expensive than the standard bezel which you can cut yourself. Not hard to do. Just take your time; measure twice and cut once!
Took me a fricking week - literally - to get my bezel cut because my Dremel wouldn't last more than 5-10 mins...and it takes 3-4 hours to charge. Annoying, but definitely well worth it in the end. If you decide to go this way, the two/three Dremel bits you'll need are the black fiberglass-reinforced cutting disks specifically for metal (they work amazingly well), a small and very rough sanding bit, and probably the small disk sander too - it helped me a lot.
I have some 6x9 infinity speakers I have in boxes like that which I plan on using for my rear speakers might not even use front ones considering how small that dash spot is its kinda worthless. I was even considering trying to fit a 12" sub in the back....
A scan through ebay shows me that the stock style brackets are kinda expensive... How much are the precut ones? haven't found them anywhere yet
I would spend the extra $$$$ to get the aftermarket bezel. After half an hour, I ended up breaking the side of the original bezel in the vice-clamp. (not taking my time). Be sure to take your time and buy (new) on Ebay. Do not buy the bezel plus aftermarket stereo. You will do better finding your own stereo. Be sure to find a stereo that has an accessory outlet on the front of your stereo for your IPOD.
