This might be a generation thing but has anybody else notice that C1,C2 ex-specially C3 owners call there cars a vette--- c5 and c6 owners call there cars a corvette!
Just an observation,
Funny ... I always say the wife likes her BIKE and I like my VETTE.
Many different kinds of vettes, all Chevrolet.
Many different kinds of bikes, all HD.
Both are 2-seaters.
Both have the wave.
Both of ours are on the inexpensive side, but funny that I have about
the same $$ into both (~ $8k).
Before she started picking out accesories:
We refer to ours as "the car" ,, there is no question in this household as to which one me mean. My truck is simply the black truck, the '40 Ford is "blackie" the vanagon is "gnome" and the scoot is another "blackie". Hey NHvette, your wife has a nice little sporty, do you get to ride it? Peace,,,Moosie
Lol, Vette being a 70 thing, my vette is a 79. Nice HD, The older HD riders like myself call our HD's bye what engine it is:Example I ride a Shovelhead, I say my Shovel, My buddy rides a Panhead, he calls his a pan. Just a thought
I will always call mine a Vette and the newer ones Corvettes .
Hey Dave, I hope my youngest doesn't get any ideas about wanting a bike at his age. He got to ride on a friends Fat Boy while on vacation and was grinning ear to ear .

Just an observation,
I didn't mean any disrespect to the C4's, I use to own one ,sry. I'm just curious which generation of the corvette's started calling them corvettes instead of vettes, I personal think it started with the C4 or C5 when they went away from the fiberglass bodies. Or is it like how the C6 drivers don't wave etc,
I almost always call them 'vettes but then I usually call my Firebird a 'bird too. Its not that unusual, I hear Mustang owners call their cars 'stangs. It seams to be limited to relatively cool cars though, I dont hear many people say their taking the 'scort or 'lier out (escort, cavalier).

Vettes first and foremost, no matter what the year. The Harleys and 66 Bonniville are most often refered to as Scooters and occasionally as just plain Bikes.
