Just got info from Joe Conte's Corvettes in Vineland N.J. He has an 80 coupe with 16K which looks great in the pictures he sent. Asking $21,900.00 for it with L-48 and 4 Spd with a 6 mo. or 7500 mi. warranty. (It's a long drive to New Jersey.) Anyone familiar with his lot? Any info appreciated. That 16K seems too good to be true, but they say it's accurate. I remain Old Guy Still Looking...
First off ive dealt with joe for 20 years ,ive bought parts and friends who have bought several cars also from him.Joe is top notch,he tells you up front if theres something wrong, but otherwise his cars are usually right on.He likes to get low mileage vettes .Hes sold tons of vettes in his years,i remember when his shop was one small building and could only get a few cars inside now you can get 20 or so cars in it.They do full restorations also and minor to major repairs.
there are some late rubber bumper cars with very low miles and if it is like a new car and it has to be like a new car are worth like 18 to 20,000 but they will go down in value if you put miles on them .
so i think to like the other poster that for that kind of money i would get a very nice base or small block 69 to 72 and drive it and it still will go up i value there are some out the in the low 20s in a base modal.
sounds like a lot for one of those, can't stand the bubble windows personally, so it is a big negative for my tastes. Definately look for a Chrome Bumper fixer upper(screw Numbers Matching, unless you are already thinking about selling it in the near future)
I have more than that in mine and I'm not done yet! You can spend a lot if you want to restoring these. I agree for that price it should be well on it's way to being finished. I would't recomend ANY car for investment purposes, get stocks, real estate or something else if making money is the goal. If you want a classic car to enjoy and can afford it, find the right one for you and buy it if you want to! The hell with what anybody else thinks. The "bubble " windows are awesome on the 80-82 - my .02

I just saw two 81s in Osage Beach , Missouri one was a two tone automatic car I could not see the mileage for $10,000 the other was a four speed silver one owner with 22,000 mile and the sign in the window was $23,995 both were very clean. Being the owner of an 81 I keep an eye out for prices on the 80-82s and the asking prices keep going up
