I replaced the whole front suspension on my 82 and used Mid America 460 lb Grand Touring springs and Bilstein gas shocks. Now my front end sits 2" higher than before. The new springs on the floor were shorter than the old ones but the car sits higher. How do I fix that? Did I do something wrong. I thought putting in shorter stiffer springs would lower my car.
When I replaced my springs, I was told the car would sit 1" lower. Being new to Corvetts, I thought this might be a bad thing, and put in the optional rubber spacer to keep it at origional heignt. Big mistake. Much higher. I didn't measure, so don't know how much, but noticeably higher. So, dropped the spacer and it now sits at aprox. stock height. I will probable try to lower it once I catch up on the other thousand project that need to be done. Good luck
Did you tighten everything back up with the car in the air or on the ground? You should just snug everything while is in the air then lower it to ground, drive it around the block once or twice to let everything settle in then torque it to specs on the ground.
