This is for my boat not the vet...have vortex ('97 5.0) w/2barrel carb and manifold. Intake gasket had leak (coolant and air bubbles) so pulled manifold today. I have older (?) 4barrel manifold and carb and want to switch but not sure if it will bolt up right to vortex heads. Eye balling it looks good and all bolt holes align, should I go for it or put wimpy 2barrel back. That marine engine has lots of junk on top of manifold so I only want to put it back together once. Please help me here so I can finish this up and get back to playing with the '74 Vet.
Tried it today and found out four center bolts wouldn't align...looked like it would fit but bolts wouldn't thread. Oh, and by the way Thanks for all the help
A lot of marine v8s came with quadrajets.
I think a 2 barrel would be fine if it were sized jetted correctly for the cid and rpm.
I'm sure you run it at constant rpms most of the time anyway.
