Looks like I have a tranny leak, certainly not a drip that's for sure. Luckily with a quick look it looks like it is dripping from the pan(torwards the front). None of the bolts were loose.
Question # 1....Is there a certain gasket/seal recommended?
Question # 2....Anyone know how much torque for the bolts or just tighten snug?
Hopefully plan on doing this later this week. Should be just drain, drop and replace unless you guys say otherwise.
Thanks

I dont think you have a drain so its going to be drop splash and drain. Leave some bolts in until it breaks loose and lower slowly. When you get the pan off put the edge on the bench and flatten the metal under the bolt holes-if you dont the pan will not seal.I dont use a torque wrench for this-I use a 1/2 nut driver and gently snug and go around a couple times-dont force gasket out the side.If your lucky it wont leak-If your not lucky it might be the frt. seal if its coming from the front.Good Luck
I had huge lake under my 82 last week.. Fortunately, I think I have fixed it by tightening down on the pan bolts a little. Amen to the drain plug thing. next time the tranny is serviced I am going to have a drain plug installed. Good luck on repairing your leak.
