81 Diff Fluid
i am planning on serving the diff on my 81 tonight. Need couple ?`s answered.
1. is there a drain plug, or does it have to be sucked out?
2. what fluid should i use to go back?
3. Will i need the slip-additive?
4. How much fluid will i need?

1 - You'll need to suck it out.
2 - I'm running Schaeffer's 267. It's a climbing oil with the posi additive. Folks with AWD setups recommend it to lower gear noise. It has helped the vette a bit in that regard. http://www.schaefferoil.com/gear_oils/267.html

4 - That I don't know because I had my mechanic change it while the car was in for other service. (The mechanic had trouble locating the Schaeffer's and needed to order it from out-of-state.)
