Default No Fluid at the Caliper

Can anyone explain this. Before I installed a new caliper on the front wheel, I had someone pump the brakes to verify there was brake fluid coming thru the hose - and there was. I get the hose and caliper all hooked up and start the bleeding process. The old caliper on the other wheel works fine. The new one has no fluid coming thru when I open the bleeder screw. What's up with that? Also, don't see any leaks anywhere.

I just did the same thing on mine. With my vacuum bleeder I never got any fluid at the caliper. I had my helper pump the brakes several times then hold so I could open the bleed screw. It took a lot longer but it finally worked.

you got to have the caliper full before any juice will come out and it takes quite a bit to fill it.

That makes sense. I didn't allow the caliper to fill. Thanks.

you can use a baster or big syringe to prefill it, save some pumping

I just replaced a front caliper this weekend. Had to pump andpump and pump and pump. After I got tired of it, I decided to let it gravity bleed. A couple of minutes later and I was golden - but definitely took forever...
