Default BBC Corvette filming- Amboy,Ca

Next Saturday/Sunday myself and another forum member riding along will participate in filming driving Old Route 66 near Amboy,Ca...been preping the 78 as it has A/C...temps have been 109/112 F out there past week or so...forecast is 106 F for July 8-9...I added an extension to my stock air dam...this brings it to 3 1/2" vice 2"...works well as coolant temps lower by 3-5 degrees.....

Link about Amboy...ghost town today...

Most of that sounds pretty good with the exception of the heat. Should be nice and warm anyway. Have fun and see if you can snag a few pics for your forum buddies.

We will get plenty of pics..I received a call this morning they(BBC) are moving filming earlier in the morning...they will start filming at 6:30 AM instead of 11 am on both days in Amboy....guess they gave some thought to what I told them a week ago...that in our desert, the hottest part of the day is around 3-4 PM...
There are supposed to be two more C3's involved, but won't know who until we get there Saturday...
We will overnight in Barstow Saturday,if anyone on the forum lives there..

Are you being paid? Someone I spoke with afew weeks ago, told me he was once in a film with his Model T. He refused to let anyone else drive the car so he was paid 1. for the car 2. for driving 3.as an extra. On top of that he had to dress the part and three nice young ladies helped him WB Sounds cool

3 C3's in one film. Would be neat if it were 3 forum members. Maybe you can convert them if there not.

This is a BBC Science of London joint venture with Discovery Channel...a series on "The Truth About Food"...so our part is "true to life" testing in the California desert...each participant will be fed, then drive and results on how we feel will be evaluated (over two days)...this also involves a German company who has researched natural foods..other type segments are underway in the UK involving some people in a four month study..all part of the series to broadcast next Jan 2007 in the UK and in the US on Discovery Channel....many different parts to this...

I hope there are some cute chicks on the film crew. I require a BJ after each meal, and Rich just isn't my type...

Don't need a nap..but I might get hungry real fast...

(part of the evaluation is determining how long it takes)

Talk about desolate. Being from the northeast it's hard to imagine that anyplace like that actually exists....

Good luck, and take lot's of pics. maybe you should slap a corvette forum sticker in one of your windows or something!

Did they say anything about "getting a rise out of you", so to speak?

I remember that being part of the whole study when you'd looked up online earlier..

There is a caretaker at Amboy....this place is isolated...80 miles east of Barstow and 50 miles north of 29 Palms....zilch out there...
I'll be wearing "the shirt"...

Me2.....checked A/C today....50 degrees at the ducts...if we are lucky, the compressor should hold up when it hits "head pressure" in that heat...we were careful to check that today...did not have to charge system...last charge was four years ago...
