One of the belts is gone. This is the shortest one, between the crankshaft and the water pump (see green belt on sketch below). I need to buy one but I am not sure of the exact name nor of the part number for a 1971 LS5 (454). Does someone know ?
Also, the belt configuration does not look like the setting shown in the assembly book (above) but more like on the sketch below: The red belt goes around the crankshaft pulley, the water pump, the generator and the steering pump. Where can I find such a long belt ? Is there a part number ?
I believe the correct GM part # is 3952336 with a width of 15/32
and a length of 31 7/8. The part number may have been supercede
by now as My parts book is from 1982.
