C3 that is. I hate not having mine back together yet. When I see one on the road I just drool. Part of me feels so fortunate for having one and the other part of me is filled with despair that I'm not out cruising too. As many times as I see the pics posted here, I still can't get over them when I actually see them on the road. It's as if they are freakin exotic or something. It's hard to beleive that "just an old car" can make me feel that way. I look at the driver and I think, "You lucky dog". As much as if I saw another dude with a really hot chick. Call me nuts (I'm sure some will take advantage of that), but some C3's just move me. I'm like AAAAAAAARGH!!! I WANT TO RIDE OUT IN MINE TOO!!! I even think it would be gay to go talk to the owner about it because mine isn't even on the road yet. Kind of like a faker. I just can't wait. Work, the wife, the kid and the short hours of the day just seem to keep getting in the way. I'm doing it all myself this time, so it's all up to me to get it done. Anyway, happy 4th!!! Sorry for the rant.
im in the same boat as you so dont feel like you are alone. i am hopeing to have mine running by this next weekend. ive been working on mine for the past three years now and i havent even taken it on the street yet. i got it running last year but found out that the rings on the passanger side were bad so the engine came back out and i rebuilt the whole thing and now i finally got it back in and i am in the process of getting it ready for its break in startup. just hang in there and focus on the goal.
Litevette,
I know exactly how you feel.
My one or two year restoration took 10 long years to complete. It's tough to see others driving their Vettes and know that you have one at home but can't drive it. I bought mine in 1972 and started what was going to be a quick restoration in August 1995 and finally finished it in September 2005 and registered and insured it for driving in April 2006.
Life, work, family, kids, money all get in the way and as we all know one thing leads to another so it takes longer to finish it.
Hang in there, it will all come together and it will feel so good to be driving it and to know that you made it what it is. You will appreciate it even more.
