When I go to put my window crank handles back on, they don't go onto the shaft far enough, so they just spin. The retainer clip is going on all of the way, but fearing these crank handles are sub-par chinese crap, I'm not sure what to do.
When the door panel is off, the handle goes on fine and engages the teeth on the shaft. But with the door panel, the escutheon and the spacer, it acts like the shaft isn't long enough to seat into the door crank handle. Ughh!!!
I tried tapping the handles on with a rubber mallet, but that didn't help.
The clip is engaging in the groove on the shaft, but I'm wondering if the clip is too thin (ie cheapo chinese junk) and maybe there is too much play in it. If I push real hard into the window crank handle and turn the handle, it engages.
If anyone can recommend a source for a quality handle, I'm all ears. I think I got these through Corvette America. They don't indicate where they were made, though.
