Default BB vs SB: How hot is hot?

Just wondering how much hotter would the interior be with a BB instead of the SB? I am planning for a resto - Not NCRS the other ncrs -and considering eliminating the A/C in the process. Will I hate myself for it? Actual observed temps would be appreciated in addition to anecdotal evidence. Anyone else made the switch? I mostly see people adding A/C.
FYI- I never use A/C now on either of my vettes and am mostly fine but the '75 does get "warm" say 90F and that's about my limit.

Thanks,
steve

Default Hot!!!!!!

I have a '70 big block corvette. Winter is great!!! The engine runs cool, but between the heat from the engine and the headers, it is hot. Hot to the tune of when I get out of my leather seats, my drawers are wet, and I constantly get kidded by the club members that I wet my pants. I have even gone as far as dumping bottled water on my head, coming back from Arroyo Grande last July. I am not kidding. My car came without a/c, power steering or power brakes, and I am not changing it, I have to live with it! Cheers, Sherry

Sorry I can't give you hard facts. All I can say is my '73 BB with Headers is in line with the gates of hell near the pedals. My buddy's '78 S/B doesn't get hot. And I did add heat shielding when I re-did the interior. Helped a little, but not enough. Hot days make for hot feet.

'72 LS5 here ... I've burnt my hand on the hood release handle ... that is how hot ... I've melted the guts of an MSD box that was mounted down by the egg crate grill ... that is how hot ... I've never driven the car without soaking wet feet from all the sweat ... that is how hot ...

My BB runs just as cool as any SB.

Unfortunately, its only for the first five minutes.

Can anyone beat these interior footwell temps?...132 F (Raytek)while in Amboy,Ca last weekend..air temps were 110 F..surface temps on ground were 151 F...that was the 78 L-82 SA...

The 69 BB is much cooler,,but it has splash shields/insulation on exterior side of footwells..

Time for splash shields/insulation on the 78 hot box.....!!

Okay, I'm getting the idea.
Now, a follow-up question: Does A/C help in keeping you comfortable or do you find that feet are roasting while torso is cold?
