Who's headed up to Big Bear this weekend for the 24th annual Big Bear Bash? There's usually about a trillion Corvettes for this event. We're gathering a group to come from Palm Springs and we'd love to hook up with any forum members for a cold one when we get there!

Is the show still on? I know they had a lot of the roads closed up there due to the fires that have been moving through...the local ABC news afilliate said that they were worried half of Big Bear was going to burn.

Not true at all..heck,they never had smoke up at Big Bear City...nada...roads(38/18) are open and never closed..Corvettes West who sponsors the event posted an update on thier web site today...the event is on and no danger from the fires...
That's what I get for listening to the local news.
ABC and affliliates have a record of selling the news...not reporting it...I happened to be driving thru Yucca Valley on the Sunday the fire started
returning from Amboy,Ca July 9th.....the nearest the fire got to Big Bear was 10 miles away about a week later.....when both the Sawtooth fire and Millard fire joined up..
Here is a picture I took that day approaching Yucca Valley..you can see the smoke crossing the highway in the distance...note my temp gage..200..it was 110 F that day...
