Default Big Bear Bash A Bust!

We cruised up for the Big Bear Corvette weekend but it rained....I mean torrential rain!....and even hail. Lots of hail. Not a very good cruise weekend for a lot of people that came a long way for it.

On the good side, I'm happy to say that our trip through the open desert in the middle of the day, with temperatures just slightly cooler than the surface of the sun, told me just what I needed to know.....

My new aluminum Northern radiator I installed last month kept the car at an even 200 degrees the whole way, even climbing the steep hills up to the summit at Big Bear.

Hi Greg. I didn't even know about it until I saw a caravan of about ten C5-C6's. I have been in Arrowbear (near Running Springs) for the last week. Some SERIOUS thunder storms!

Well, I was po'd that it was 108 deg in Redlands--little rough in the vert--on my way home at about noon. Guess I just misssed it.

Hey - had a great time at Big Bear. Some rain on the cruise parade and today at final awards but all events went off fine, well organized. No rain on the volleyball games the funkana or the poker run... and I found out for the first time that the windshield wipers on my vette really do work. 70 degrees and rain actually felt pretty good before we came back down the mountain to 108 in Redlands.

Glad to hear that they got rain up there, hopefully it helped to quell the fires in the area up there.
