This fire started Sunday..only had burned 3,000 acres..Monday it had burned 7,000 acres..now...it is at 15,000 acres and no containment in sight...we are southwest..about 8 miles...
Be sure to pack up you're valuables now in case you need to leave in a hurry.
Hopefully it doesn't come to that...
We are ok at this point being 8 miles away.... ..thankfully there are no Santa Ana winds coming from the east...but the issue for firefighters was Monday, they did not have good support by air tankers,as they were on the Sawtooth fire up north...another issue is this fire is jumping all over the place and no way to get in to it in many areas.......and resources are spread thin...latest reports are they are rushing in more firemen..upwards 1000...there is a group of firefighters, tanker trucks making a stand on the west side of the fire on Lyons Valley road..if it were to get thru there..all hell could break loose...they have two more similar situations east and south near populated areas at Lake Morena and Potrero....this afternoon will be interesting...
Rich - I pray that you, your family and your toys stay safe.
Good luck to you.
Thanks...we are ok...remarkable though, that so far no one has lost a home out where this thing is burning..credit the firemen who fought off fires near some homes...15% contained so far...
