Default Any corvette "CHICKS" out there???

Around here, I only see C3 Vettes occasionaly. When I do, its always some girl driving it. So I was just wondering how many of you out there are wrench weilding chicks? Not trying to pick you up, just curious.

These girls/woman are driving C3's, so I'm sure they get hit on as soon as they pull out of their driveways.

My wife has a 1981 and she does all the wrench turning on the car.

Car is all stock but she has an oil change, trans flush, and a qjet rebuild in her future! (I supervise, she gets all greasy.)

Works well for both of us.

I've never seen a girl in a C3, but I sure have met a bunch that love them.

I met a woman yesterday afternoon. Her father has given her his 73. Her clothes, hands, and nails were dirty. I asked her did she work on cars. And she said yes (she had been working on a 89 CRX) I was impressed. She also mentioned that she has taken over management of an auto repair shop down the street from where I live. She gave me her phone number and I'm going over to her father's house later this week to check out the Vette.

Women really like when you call them things like that so I am sure you will get a lot of replies and maybe even some come-on from this thread

I like gals who take a little time to clean up before they go down the street unless the garage was burning down and she had to run...!

But I give her props for being a tuner...

don't underestimate the ability of a woman to do her own car wrenching..
I remember a bunch of years back when I was a factory sales rep for some major car audio lines. I was judging a lot of car stereo competitions also and this young woman kept showing up at different competetions with improvements to her system week after week. She would get the scoring sheet at the end of each show, and come back to the next one with the improvements. After talking to her I learned she did the installed completely herself (no, NOT her boyfriend, or father or friends, she did it) and I'll tell you the custom install looked better than most of the professional jobs done by the car audio shops.
now here is the real kicker which is why I brought this all up........ during one of my conversations with her, it turns out that working on her car is nothing new to her because of her job......... she was one of the trainer mechanics for BMW. I don't mean she was new and getting trained to be a mechanic, she was fully certified and was one of the trainers BMW used to train other mechanics on the BMW cars!
Oh - she was about 22-23 at the time.

for her, doing the full custom audio install was a piece of cake. She was only making improvements as she was learning more about the accoustical theory to improve how the system sounded. The quality of the installing and her fabrication skills, etc were flawless and if you have never seen a full car audio competition system we are talking about systems that can range over 100K, involve major reconstruction to the vechile, custom made fiberglass panels and covers, custom made door panels and kick panels to hold speakers in the proper position and look good whether it be a custom or a stock "look", complex wiring, etc.
Believe me, this was impressive for a profession car audio installer let alone for a single individual.
Don't underestimate what a woman can do if she decides she wants to do her own wrenching on a car - not all of them that own Vettes or any other car are "checkbook mechanic" car owners!

I agree with BarryK....In 1977 I had broken most of my ribs from being "slung" off the tube behind the boat. Our 70 LT-1 (the wife's daily driver at the time) had popped a fuel pump. I supervised....while she did a great job of installing a new fuel pump. Over the years, she had turned many a wrench on an assortment of cars. While it's not her 1st love....she is good enough to hang out with me in the garage and I make sure to have an interest and participate in her profession as a professional artist.

I still have "the wife" today.....too bad I don't still have that LT-1 !

However...we are fortunate to have a 72 base Coupe and a 74 LS4 Vert.

She prefers the 454......good girl !

Default I do what I can

there are just some things that I can't do, like when the complete brake system had to be done on my vette that was parked for 8 years and I think some of that was outside they were gross. That was cash for that job. But I have done a lot of work on the interior and what I could under the hood.

I alway wash up before going out and if I break a nail I have it fixed.

Im teaching my g/f about corvettes, and she saw what she claimed a early 70's pink corvette(she told me about it and turned out to be a 69 corvette) Pink, with Hooker Sidepipes.
She went and asked the guy about it and he said it was his WIFES car, and he was just taking it for a quick ride.....

O ya now i have my g/f in love with corvettes and she wants to buy a c3 or a c4 for her first car(well have her parents buy one)

I was mad when she said she didnt get pics.....

Many want to drive them though(i had about 6 friends that are girls asking to drive my car when i take it to school, i just say yes but they never will )

I had my g/f clean my valve covers when i took them off, it was fun to watch her get all dirty.... O ya and she ask's me if we can go work on my car one day every other week why shes at my house. Shes in love with it...

ps Girls with vettes are hott.....
