Default Inerior Paint questions

Ok guys I have a question that I need an answer to ,to figure out what I need to do.. As some of you know I am redoing the interior in the 80 Vette but I want to paint the gauge cluster cover bezel but I do not know what to paint it with that wil give it the chrome shiny edge that was origial, everything I have used is dull and not shiney. My bezel is not broken or cracked so I do not want to replace it. So what do you guys use that makes it look shiney like original..

Thanks in advance Scott

I tried the Ford or Chevy metallic silver (i think that's the name) touch up paint that is made for car touchups. It comes in a small bottle at any autoparts store in their paint section. I just striped off what i wanted to paint and went to work. The color should match up pretty well to the original.

While not the best quality, that trimmed edge is plated, plastic plate to be sure, but plated just the same. You will not find any product to give you that same plated appearance. It isn't paint and none of the in-can chrome substitutes will look as good. If it's so bad you can't live with it, it would be best to buy a reproduction bezel.
