Well,
I promised to give you all a follow-up on my Summit aluminum radiator install, so.....
I've had my aluminum radiator in for about a month now with record temperatures here in the Mojave Desert and my car hasn't gotten over 200 degrees and I'm running the stock fan.
Whether it's stop and go traffic in town or the brutal mid-day heat in the open desert at highway speed, I'm running a constant 200 or less. I'm sure that this upgrade on a coast car or a car in a cooler climate would really benefit the owner and they could expect significantly lower temps than I'm seeing here in the desert.
I think this is the most extreme environment for testing this after market set up and I have to say; it came through even better than expected.
Oh, and as far as the "Handshake Guarantee" goes; one thing I didn't mention in my original post was that when I received my radiator, I opened the box and found the core had a scuffed/dented area in the center of it that looked like a possible leak. It was probably damaged somewhere along the way during shipping. I plugged the hose outlets and filled the rad, sure enough, it was a leak. I called Summit and explained the situation. They didn't hesitate or hassle me. They said another one was on its way to me the same day and when I returned the damaged one they'd give me a full refund including the shipping.
The full refund showed up on my credit card account about a week later.
Pretty good service.
