Default 1973 "Dark Blue" 927 Paint Code

The ol' Vette is being prepped for paint. My P&B man can't find the correct "Dark Blue" for my 73. Yes, the color code on the trim tag is 927 but he says this code isn't matching anything in his computer or books,..nor was the VIN of use.

He uses Spies (sp?) paint (pronounced "spees" I think). He said he could mix-n-match and get close but I'd like it to be painted the correct color,..or very close.

Do you know of a modern-day paint code,..or do you have any other advice?

Thanks in advance!

Spies is a european company that is fairly new. They don't have many formulas for old american cars. I work in a store that sells it.

that is a great website!

This website has all the chip charts (of course the actual color on a paintchip chart on a computer monitor will not be accurate) and the paint codes, if not the actual formulas.

These websites will not help your painter. Spies does not have formulas for these old colors. These sites just give the factory code or other brand of paint codes. Go with a domestic paint company and they should be able to mix the exact color.
