Default Cooling components

The bearing on my water pump went out, so I ordered a Stewart stage 1 cast iron pump. Decided it's time to take radiator to shop for rod out, ending up with new core with old side tanks. Also, order new air dam seal kit and all new hoses. Probably end up painting shroud, rad supports and anything else that needs attention.

The new lower radiator hose from Napa does not have a spring, both the Napa salesman and the radiator shop told me that it is not necessary to have a spring in lower hose. Since, I am not running in a very high RPM range (7000-9000). Comments please.

Both my upper and lower hoses are NAPA w/o springs and I have no issues. If you get an air bubble, without springs a hose could collapse and you would heat up real quck then with blocked circulation. Make sure you purge all the air and you'll be fine.

Thanks for the reply.

In the past when I have replaced a water pump, I would leave radiator cap off . Then run car until thermostat would open an add more coolant until filled. This is the correct way for purging air from system.
