Looking for a 68-72 Corvette with very few options, AC is not one of them but all I can find are cars with A/C.
I've seen convertible;'s with air why would some one want air in a convert.?
Have you ever been out in 90-100 degree weather in a convertible of any kind? NOT a lot of fun, especially driving around town when you're not "moving" a lot of air. You've got the HOT sun beating on your head, etc.
AC in Corvette roadsters began as an option in 1963. Chuck
Keep looking. There were far more cars built without ac than with ac in the 68-72 period. AC was an expensive option that was not all that popular. It sapped performance so I would look for big blocks, 350/350HP, and LT1's. I believe that you could not get AC in an LT1 until 1972.
For example there were over 17,000 Corvettes sold in 1970 and only 6600 came with AC. That represents 38% of the production run. I am willing to bet that 68 and 69 had similar numbers with steady increases in 71 and 72.
In 1970 there were about 11,000 coups and 7.000 convertibles built and I bet AC was more popular in the coups than in the convertibles. A convertible without AC would not be unusual in those days. What has been added in the next 35+ years is another story. A couple of quick turns of a wrench and the AC can be made to dissapear.
