Yesterday I mentioned my wife drove our 78 SA 4 speed for the first time in 15 years....today,we took both vettes to a local car show...
Bud gets 2nd place with his 63
Friends 67
Cobra Aluminum body 289 with full race chasis...
My wife (center) getting aqauinted with her competition...54 Packard,Cobra,etc...
My buds 63 which tied for first place with the PINK 57 T-Bird...ruling by Judges in favor of the 57 T-Bird purchased at Barrett Jackson show for $120 K...
The best part: After the car show,my wife was following me in the 78..
Then..she decides 70 MPH is not fast enough and passes me about 75-80 MPH...
When we got home, she told me she was "used" to the 78 and thought passing me would be fun...
Got to hand it to her...she turned 61 last July and digs our vettes... But she won't drive the 69 because she says it scares her...
Very cool shots. I was hoping to make it down there. I also have a 67 P1800 Volvo 2 seater and the 1800 club was going down as well. From the shot of you heading home you must live out in East County close to me.

We live just east of HWY 8 off Lake Jennings Road....a Volvo won first in it's class today...then his wife won the Mayors Trophy with a 54 Packard.......ironically,my wife was parked next to her and predicted either the Packard would win the Mayors Trophy or a Model T Ford...
We took 1st in our class last year with the 78 and were invited back to compete for the Mayors Trophy this year.....I was just thrilled that my wife agreed to drive the 78 down there today...I drove our 69...
How about lunch sometime ? I'll PM you in the next few days...
Rich
$120 K for a $5 trophy....
Glad you had a good time with the vettes.
This guy bought it for his wife who always wanted a pink T-bird...she was very nice and complimented my friends 63 vette...but as you say....$120 K....plus he has put more mula in it since he bought it...what was strange was his comments about another 57 T-bird in the show where the original window sticker was more than his T-Bird when first sold...weird...I just shrugged my shoulders when he mentioned it..after all, they both were FORDS...!!!
We met Hank last year when his Cobra and our 78 both won 1st place in our classes(Automobile Heritage Days in National City,CA)...Hank brought his Cobra down from Fontana yesterday and we were thrilled to see him again...
Thanks for posting the video...My wife and I really appreciate that...

What is wrong with FORD? I have a F-250 SD, Expedition, 66 T-Bird being restored and these:
It looks like you had a good time, and a good turnout with some nice cars. Its always fun to go to a car show and check out all the rides. I get a lot of ideas on what to do, and what not to do by seeing how other people display their cars.
