Well my two vehicles are my '81 and my '04 Ninja. Here in San Diego it doesn't rain much so I'm not usually worried about driving the vette in the rain. Mine doesn't leak and handles alright in wet weather. Not quite as well as my '95 Z28 did, but it's not hard. Even when it does rain, it's pretty pathetic and isn't very scary.
I dont use mine daily as I have a milage restriction on my INS. policy but I have been caught in the rain a few times
The last time was late June, beautiful day, the tops were off and in my garage.
Then the sky opened up and it was coming down in buckets.... talk about looking like an idiot
Believe it or not my 73' doesnt leak one bit but I watch the weather before I plan on driving anywhere other than local.
As long as its not raining on the way into work i will take it. If it rains on the way home oh well no big deal. My main reason for not driving in the rain is that it gets pretty hot and uncomfortable in the car with no ac and the windows up and the tops on
My '77 is a DD when it isn't raining, which isn't to say that I haven't been caught in the rain.
Leaks aren't an issue, but turns and off-ramps are...I learned my lesson a few years ago after fishtailing 90 to the left, 90 to the right and then a 180 back to the left coming off the highway (I should have just let of the gas, but I was trying to control the slide and stay on the road, which in the end I did). I thanked God that there weren't any cars coming the other direction and learned quickly to be extra careful in the rain...
My corvette is a weekend warrior and I avoid the rain like the plaugue. The tops leak a little, but I don't want the road sludge layered on the under carriage if it can be avoided. Beside it's no fun to drive in the rain..visibility is poor and handling is worse.

Last time I tried to drive my car to work during a heavy storm I had a steady stream of water pouring onto the floor from behind the dash on the passenger side. I also lack the level of intelligence necessary to align my door glass so that it seals to the pillars and the t-tops. So, leaks are the reason I try to keep mine out of the rain. It's not a DD though.

mine used to do that, i had to take out the windsheild, dash, and doors to fix it, i had rust holes

How did it look from the underside with the dash out? I have my dash out right now and if this is something I can see from the underside I'll start looking for it tonight.
My Z06 is my DD...the '82 comes off her throne (garage queen) on Friday - Sun when the sun is out and close to zero rain chances for the same reasons others have mentioned. Biggest concern I have is some idiot hitting me rather than it getting dirty.
Want to talk about a squirrelly car in the rain...try a Z06 on SC tires...I spin from a dead stop every time. Other Z06 drivers claim they drive fine in the rain, I just haven’t figured it out yet I guess, maybe a problem with my heavy right foot!
If it is only gonna rain a little I will drive it. There is a slight leak on the passenger side that I am not sure where it is comming from (but I think it is the vents). The other reason is that I live about 3 miles back on a dirt road and it is rains there is mud and the entire underneath of the car gets saturated with mud.
I don't see much of an issue. I drove my 74 year round every day for the first two years I had my license. Through rain, sun and snow. If a 16 year old kid can drive a C3 with a 454 four speed through Michigan winters and live to tell about it, then there's no reason to fear a little rain or even snow now and then!
Years later my 18 year old daughter would drive the exact same car to high school her entire senior year. It had a 400 small block with an automatic in it at that time, but she managed to get it home safely every night.
Now it's got the original 454 back in, but I left the Turbo 350 automatic in place. It's still not afraid of a little rain or snow, either!
I drive the 78 comfortably in the rain..but the Yokohamas make a difference compared to Goodyears which are horrible in the wet...Yokohama is rated very good for resistance to hydroplaning...
On the otherhand,I'm reluctant to drive the 69 due to torque of the 502 in the rain..(wheel spin).although I have twice...BFG's on the 69 seem ok in the wet but have not hit any standing water...
I try and not drive my 81 in the rain if possible as it is not my DD. We have had alot of rain this summer and I've been caught twice in the rain, once over 200KM from home broke my heart but I bought the car to drive it.

right where the doors bolt up, go inside the car and look up the saport and thats where mine is, water gets in there and sits and rusts, and theres no way to get to it without taking off the fenders(is what i was told), so what i did was cut into the fire wall
if you need pictures where its at, ill will gladly email them to you
