Default Help - Plugs and wires on a Grand Prix

I know this is not the right place to ask this but as much as you guys help me with my Corvette I thought I would ask,

I need to change plugs & wires on my girlfreinds 1998 3.8L Grand Prix, How do you pull the plugs that are against the fire wall?

Is there someplace on web that I can read about, or does someone have a trick for me.

Thank You - Please Help, (I hate new cars)

I have a '05, same thing, although I haven't changed the plugs on this car yet. My last car an '01 Impala I did change the plugs.
FIRST buy a Haynes manual or some other service manual from an auto parts store for reference.
Basically you have to loosen the dog bone motor supports and roll the motor forwards to access the 3 rear plugs. Be prepared to stand on your head and you willl have to replace the wires if they are original or have been there a while. You will destroy them trying to get them off the plugs.
Not a complex job, just takes a while and a lot of patiense
best of luck

Yes, I pulled the engine forward by hand and used a block of wood between the engine and firewall on the pass side. That was enough to give me room to work on the back side. I am sure there are more tricks and better ways to do this....maybe others will chime in....not hard just takes a good back and some patience.

For what it's worth - I have a 98 Grand Prix, 3.8, with 156K miles, on the original plugs and wires. Still gets 25 mpg and idles so smooth you don't know its running.

That sound like this one, samething and also 156K, but it just started to run rough and engine lite came on, so I got the code read and it said P0300 which is randum misfire, so I went with plugs and wires.

Thanks

We changed the plugs in my brother's 97 gtp. Remove the bolt from the dog bones and pull the engine forward with a pry bar. I have to look to make sure, but there was another hole in the motor mount where you could temporarily install a bolt and it would hold the engine forward.
