My current 73' doesnt leak one bit and neither did the one I owned previously.
Im sure if you took a survey I would think that leaking is not a big issue with T-tops
With proper maintainance and care they are very stable and the parts are easy to come by and not expensive.
Most leaks can be fixed as it is simply an adjustment between the window and T-Top...assuming the weather striping is good. Mine leaks on the passenger side at the front corner because the factory weather strip along the A-pillar is too low, the glass and T-Top weather strip mesh fine.
It only leaks when I wash it though...never sees rain as these cars will melt
Has anyone had a body shop bond the t-tops of a C3 together so it's like a coupe? I want one to get a C3 but can't handle the stories of leaking tops.
If the tops are adjusted correctly with new weatherstrips they will not leak. You will have other issues like the windshield and door glass to look at. As far as the single piece set up I wouldn't do it for many reasons. The coupe was designed for two tops that do flex in the channels and the single piece top will work correctly and many times have squeeks. I could give you for information on this but it may bore you, bottom line stay with the set up you got and fix the problem correctly, AL.
