I'm getting ready to buy a compressor, as I posted a few weeks ago I found a Husky 60gallon compressor that delivers 12CFM at 40psi and 10CFM at 90psi. More than sufficient for whatever I want to do....
Now the question: I can get a 30gallon compressor that delivers only 5CFM at 40psi. This one is used (has been used twice, almost brand new) with 100' hose, regulator, filter, pressure gages..... the whole nine yards for $200.
this offer is too good to turn down, will that compressor work with a HVLP gun (most of these require 10CFM at 10-14psi) ?????

Reason: Corrected to CFM... what the $%^# was I thinking ???
You will quickly appreciate the capacity of the 60gal tank just as fast as you'll regret the incapacity of the 30gal tank when using HVLP and high-demand air tools. I have a Champion 2-stage on a 60 gallon tank for the big stuff, but most of the time I use a 2gal hotdog compressor and you can get one of those with all the mentioned stuff for around $200 -and you can throw it in your trunk.

And you're delivery specs are 12SCFM, not 12GPM
Of course it's CFM (or standard cubic foot/minute)...... don't know why I had that brainfart about Gallons .... I must be getting old
ive alwasy been one that has the thinking...BUY THE LARGEST COMPRESSOR YOU CAN AFFORD....YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT
I second this. And yes you can turn down the other one easy enough. Just think about all the times you may need it and it will not be able to do everything you wanted it too...
