I guess I just don't worry too much about it. Although I had to draw the line when the neighbor kid wanted to borrow it for high school prom. I don't think that kid has ever talked to me before in his life-- yet he had the guts to come up and ask to use my car. I couldn't imagine having those kind of ***** when I was that age. Of course knowing his mom, I'm sure she's the one that put him up to it.
She was drivign it home one night ... long ago ... before my body-off.
It was a windy night, and I had the kids in the Buick.
I got home and after she arrived, she told me that the side mirror
had broken. !!WHAT!!?? How the hell does the side mirror get broken ??!!??
Well, a tree had blown over and into the highway. Kim saw it just in time
to turn into the other lane, but a branch caught the mirror and only
broke the glass.
Had it been me driving ... who knows. So, maybe I owe her for saving
the vette that night ... or at least not wrecking it for real. Mirror glass
is cheap. Fiberglass is not. Oh yeah, luckily no-one was hurt.
