Mine can't see over the dash and her feet don't reach the pedals so I won't have to worry about her driving it

My girlfriend likes the 69 convertible and grinds the gears while driving it all over the place. Unfortunately she sometimes bumps other cars when she tries to parallel park it-- kind of annoying but no major damage yet. And she never watches the gauges-- so I'm figuring one day the engine will seize because she didn't notice it overheating. Hate to lose that original 350/350... Maybe I'll just give her that car and get a different one for myself.

Driftwood,
You're kidding right???
You let your girlfirend grind the gears and play bumper tag with a 69 convertible?
I don't let my wife touch my Corvette, no way!!!

Not kidding-- it's just a car and it makes her happy. I'm in the middle of gutting and remodeling my house, so I don't have much time to drive it right now anyway. I've also taught a few buddies how to drive stick on that car, so it has had its share of abuse I suppose.

I guess I just don't worry too much about it. Although I had to draw the line when the neighbor kid wanted to borrow it for high school prom. I don't think that kid has ever talked to me before in his life-- yet he had the guts to come up and ask to use my car. I couldn't imagine having those kind of ***** when I was that age. Of course knowing his mom, I'm sure she's the one that put him up to it.

My wife can drive the vette anytime. She is an awesome driver.
She was drivign it home one night ... long ago ... before my body-off.
It was a windy night, and I had the kids in the Buick.

I got home and after she arrived, she told me that the side mirror
had broken. !!WHAT!!?? How the hell does the side mirror get broken ??!!??

Well, a tree had blown over and into the highway. Kim saw it just in time
to turn into the other lane, but a branch caught the mirror and only
broke the glass.

Had it been me driving ... who knows. So, maybe I owe her for saving
the vette that night ... or at least not wrecking it for real. Mirror glass
is cheap. Fiberglass is not. Oh yeah, luckily no-one was hurt.
