This isn't exactly what you're looking for, but it's someplace to start and a bump for the thread.

1. AA Speed & Custom Discounters, 1051 Cannons Ct # F, Woodbridge, VA 703.494.1330. - They replaced the seals in my rear differential and were extremely friendly, knowledgable and helpful. I've only dealt with them for the one job, but was very impressed with the gent who helped me. I don't know if they rebuild engines, but, they might be able to point you in the right direction.

2. Wooddale Automotive Spec, Incorporated (703) 490-3319. 1051e Cannons Ct, Woodbridge, VA - right next door to AA Speed. These fellas performed a front end alignment and did a super job. On time, the bill matched the exact price estimate and super friendly. I'm going back there next week to get a rear end alignment. They recommended AA Speed for my seals so I thought that was very professional. Again, don't know if they do engine rebuilds, but might point you in the right direction.

3. Tony's Corvette Shop - Gaithersburg, Maryland - (301) 987-0565 I've never personnally dealt with them, but heard good things. Once again, don't know if they do rebuilds, but might provide suggestions.

hope this helps, good luck and let me know what you find, I may need same help!

Not in the DC metro area but only about 2.5 hrs out is Cresap Machine in Cumberland MD. Dean, the owner, builds race engines for the local circle trackers and also builds engines for several restorers on the east coast. In addition he has a nice Super Flow 902 dyno. He has done my machine work for many years. http://www.cresapmachine.com/
