Default Drilled/Slotted Rotors

Where did you buy you drilled/slotted rotors, and how much? Has anybody bought a set of drill/slotted rotors off of ebay? I seen them for less than 150 for C3. Just wondering about quality or problems?

I bought mine off ebay for my C5, no problems, just a little word of caution that I wish some one would have let me in on. First off for a street car the drilled and/or slotted rotors are of little performance benifit, a problem with gas build up and brake fade, is more a racing problem, and number 2 the drilled and slotted rotors act as a cheese grater and will cause much more brake dust and cause your pads to wear faster than non drilled and/or slotted rotors. I've had mine on my car for over a year, they look great, work great, but as I said there is much more brake dust than with the stock brake rotors and I've got ceramic pads which are supposed to be low dust. I'm happy with them but there is more work involved keeping my wheels looking nice.

And you don't want to use them for racingsince the heat cycles will crack them.

I know a guy that races Porsches and they remove the factory drilled rotors and put on smooth rotors

Cross drilled and slotted will have the chance to crack faster and you'll replace them sooner than slotted or smooth

Edit:spelling and Corvette Engineering just said same thing just seen it

Myself and others on the Forum bought the drilled and slotted rotors from Ebay/Rotorpros.com... great rotors good finish and low dust...I think they are now $240. for the set. Use organic pads, I have hardly any dust and I show, autocross, and drag, try to find any dirt there on my 73..

I have a lightning pickup truck and i put drilled and slotted rotors on it and it really stops the truck much better, and about the brake dust, you have to get the ceramic pads,NO brake dust to speak about.I will be buying the same setup for my vette. This setup really works good

got mine there last year. working great for a street driver. no racing. cars stops better now for sure, probably due to replacing the old rotors more than the d/s rotors. overall a good buy for the money. I think i paid $150 for all 4

I would bet the two people above replaced their pads when they replaced the rotors ( at least I hope so! ) and would bet a dollar of Bill Gates money that it is the pad change not the rotor change that made them better.

Good pads are very important. And lifetime pads are NOT good pads!
Ceramic, now thats a good Pad.
