Finally decided on my next project. I'm going to build a two seater, altered bantom bodied Model T/A dragster. It's going to be a street car with a vintage feel.
Here's what I'm going to put in it.
350 out of my Vette
World Class T-5 or similar
Model T frame
I-Beam front suspenstion
Not sure on the rear yet
Bantam body with wing and parachute
Extended wheelbase with wheelie bars
I ordered a bunch of books to start the reshearch process and looking at my two to three years to complete.
Anyone got any pics of Altered dragster to post?

This is our altered, it has a 33 Chevy legends body on it, we had to widen it about 10" to fit the chassis, the second is the same chassis with the funny car body. I know it isn't a street car as you are looking to build but thought you might like to see it. We used to run a Bantom body, but made this switch last year.
I have a T5 out of an 80's Camaro I am not doing anything with. Its non-World Class but needs a rebuild anyway. I think its possible to convert to World Class. Let me know if you are interested.

No budget for a rebuild, I'm just going to find something in a wrecked car and stab it in. I might clean it also. I thought you sold that thing.
Just a question here. Why would you use a 5 speed on something like this. It is quite light and I would think a 2 or 3 speed auto would be better. Not to mention easier on parts and more consistant. Most of them I have seen run use a Powerglide or Turbo 350. Looks like a fun project!
I like the altereds w/old, Fiat Topolino very tiny coupe body(ca 40's?). Last coupla years, I've seen a red Fiat steet car-altered w/blown BBC w/NC tags at the big spring show near Myrtle SC ... OE suicide doors ... ludicrous big&littles ... very cool!

Good question. It's going to be a street car. Nothing to ratical for a motor and overdrive for the gas mileage. Since I'm using my old L-48 motor, I don't expect it to run blinding quarter miles. If it was a strip car the powerglide would be the way to go.

Ok missed the part of a street car. Makes sense now.
