Default Shoulder Belts???

Hi
I have a 71 coupe and thought they were supposed to be standard.
Anyway, PO probably removed them and sold them as they are a ton to replace.

OK-QUESTION IS!
If I do not care about the original look-
Is there replacement shoulder belt kits anyone else has used??
I just picture having a permanent crossed flag emblem on my chest if I happen to survive an accident.

Lab belt is sort of a joke, but keeps me within the law...

Anyone here add a non C3 restraint system?
OR know where to get a cheap original replacement set(BLACK)

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
ERIC

I am looking at the same problem with my 76, and i have heard and seen some posts on the forum about using f-body seatbelts from the camaro/firebirds, I think the years that fit were from 1992 back.

I have the F body seat belts in mine. They are wayyy better than the lap belts. Mine are from a 96 Camaro and they have to be the rear belts. Not sure what all years they can come from. They mount in the stock locations and work much better. Cost was about 50 bucks for both from a boneyard.

You can use the rear seat belts from a 4th gen F-body (93-02). There is a 4th gen salvage yard that sells them for under $100 a set, but I can't remember the name. I scored an entire set from a '98 on eBay for $35. I sold them to a forum member for what I paid since they won't work on the '78-'82 Corvettes.
