scissors lifts
What do you know about scissors lifts? Specifically I am looking at the Bendpak MD 6XP model. I need to hear about your experiences, etc. on any model or brand of scissors lifts, especially as they relate to corvette usage.

Thanks in advance.....as usual......
I was looking at that too so would be interested in people's feedback. I decided to wait till I build my full garage and get a 4 post, but still curious on the scissors lifts.
I've had my Bendpak for about 3 years and I love it. I don't have the ceiling height for a 2 or 4 post but this is the next best thing. It is great for wheel and brake and suspension work. Even good for interior work when you wish the car was just a little higher. You can postion the car either forward on the lift or towards the rear to expose more of the underside that you want to work on. The one drawback is lack of access to the center of the car. When I had to pull the tranny out of my 94 I raised the car to the height I wanted, supported it on stands and they lowered the lift and dragged it out from underneath the car. It moves easily with a floor jack.

Does anyone know how much power they take? I only have 110 volt in my garage. I know they are heavy. How did you get them into your garage? Also, best places to buy or alternate brands?
Yes they only take 110 volts and plug into any receptacle. To move it around I use a floor jack and 3 S hooks to pick up the front of the lift with the eyelet. When you raise up the front the rear wheels will make contact with the floor and let you move it quite easily. You will need a tow motor to unload it from the delivery truck unless you request a truck with a lift gate.
