Console arm rest
Hi,
In some pictures of the earlier C3's i've seen some cars with a center console arm rest and others without. Just wondering if this was this an option back in the day, or is this an aftermarket add on

I've got one from Eckler's that I got many years ago. Good colour match and looks like it belongs there. It's actually a center console with a small storage compartment and a large armrest that just sits on top of the compartment.

oh, i see. so if you wanted to put it back to stock for whatever reason you'd have to change out the whole console...not just remove the arm rest. sounds like it's a nice add-on though...gives some storage.

I think they make an entire console for the early C3's, but the later cars have a small cushion that goes over the existing console.
Personally I would like the new console with the storage compartment for my '82...

That arm rest is the most comfortable thing you can add.
It puts your arm at the exact same level as the shifter.
I tried driving without it and its just plain awkward..GET ONE! You will never regret it
