Default Windsheild Washer Bottle Extension Question

I have a 72 vert , SB Manual 4 speed without air.
I am reconditioniong the wiper system even though I will never drive the car in the rain.

The washer bottle is located on the passenger side in the lower fender area.

It is quite far down to pour windsheild washer fluid in so I looked up in the Corvette America catalog and found an extension neck and bracket which is apparently correct.

It is part number 34122 with a description "This Item Is Correct For 1975-1982 And A Gm Replacement For 1971-1974 Corvettes."

Installed the bracket and fit nicely, however the extension is too short by about 5-6 inches.

Anybody come accross this? Is the part just not correct?
When I look in the assembly manual the extension does look longer than the one I have.
The washer bottle looks like it is in the right place and does not appear to have been relocated lower down the fender.

Any comments appreciated.
In the mean time I will be using an extra long funnel.

thx
Fred
