I have a 18X10 wheel with a 5.5 backspacing on a stock trailing arm.
Does anything rub?And is 5.5 the most back space you can run?In your gallery pics,is the one with the rim on the back of the red vette, a 10" ? it looks like its about even with your fender.
You can run a 5.5 with an 18 inch wheel on stock arms. 17s are a squeeze 16 or smaller will require offset trailing arms. The picture in my signature is with the 18s. The gallery is last year with 17s all around. They were 4 inch backspacing with 255 45 17 tires. My rears are know 275 40 18s.

Are those the 18" wheels or 17"? Either way they look killer.
I have 17 x 8 with a 4.5" backspacing. The front went on just fine but I relocated the parking brake bracket to the top of the trailing arms in the rear. After that it was fine.
