Frame Off - Removing the Body
Does anybody know how many bolts I should be looking for connecting the frame to the body?
Their are eight in the front. One on each side by the rear tires. Would 10 be the correct total or am I missing any.
Seems like there should be some by the rear bumper, but I don't see them or how to get to them.

I just removed mine last Saturday, so I'm a little ahead of you........
use the forum search, there are many threads on what to unbolt/ remove for body lift.
remember to take it slow, and keep looking for anything that you may have forgotten about.

There are eight primary body mount bolts. Two directly behind the front wheels, two behind the front door you access from the inside kick panels, two directly in front of the rear wheels and two in the back behind the rear wheels.
Along with these main bolts are many other misc. bolts holding bumpers and various supports.
You also have several ground strap connections, a set of seat belt connections, several electrical connections, master cylinder brake lines, clutch and accelerator pedals, trans-steering column interlock cable, and of course the steering coupler.
You might want to check the condition of your birdcage by looking at the mounts inside the kickpanels in front of your doors. If there is any serious rust, you might want to consult this board before you do the lift.
RedWingVette has a great site showing the problems he had and how he fixed them. I expect him to chime in on this thread anytime.
Good luck and please post questions at any time. I just got done lowering the body on my car after two years of work. I information from the board to be invaluable.

This was the only item I forgot when I started to lift my body - the frame looked a bit funny hanging from that one cable.
Needless to say, I had to replace a few additional parts after that.
