Default CE Warranty Replacement Engines?

Ok guys. I have another question for you. I have a small block, date coded November 1973. It has 4 bolt mains. Casting numbers tell me its either a Z28 302, an LT1, or a truck engine. Right now youre probably thinking it must go into a truck. However, it is a CE suffix code block, which means its a warranty replacement. My first question is would the casting number tell you what the block was according to the casting number system on the date of the casting, or would it get a casting number according to what its destination was? If it is according to what the block was going to go into, say a '69 Z28 with a blown engine, what could tell me if its a 302 (are the main bearings sized differently?) and what could tell me if its an LT1 apart from being a truck engine? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you post all of the engine numbers then I might be able to look it up and let you know.

There is no way to ever tell from the numbers. You have a 4-bolt main replacement block. You know about when it was born but not much else will ever be verified. The pistons will tell you what it was last but they might not be original to the block. Could have been over the counter sale, could have been a warranty replacement. Could have been a truck engine.

Well if there is any way to possibly narrow it down, I will find them. The block is in storage in a garage with some other stuff. I wrote the numbers down, I just have to dig them out.
