Default why does....

the blower fan blow all the time? Seems it just circulate unneeded heat. Anyone unplug it?

Seriously, I get a little hot in my fully restored (body off) '68 vette, but I think a lot of vert owners have this problem. As for the fan, it could be the switch in the "off" position being faulty

thats the problem. the 80-82 never turn off. they only have low/med.high. even on low, you get airflow from vents

GM left the blower on low to keep air moving thru the ducts to keep them dried out and keep out mold

same with my 79, it never stops. I just put the other slider on DEF and any hotness goes out the top vents instead of the ones in the footwells/on the dash. That's why everyone puts in heater-hose shutoff valves, at least the heater core stays cool(er).

not sure the exact wire but on the blower relay under the hood on the passenger side you only have to unplug one wire to stop that continuous fan blowing. I did it when I had my 81. it was much better after that. maybe someone out there knows the wire color.
