how many teeth?

how many teeth?
starters for chevy's come in 153 and 168 tooth versions. am i correct that all small blocks are 168 tooth (79 L82 350)??? and big blocks are all 153?

Same tooth count on the starter for both, I believe. Just different mounting points.

Some small blocks are 153, others are 168. I don't know about big blocks.

Most small block are 153,not sure which used 168,maybe the 400's.

Don't know about the number teeth on the starters but some flywheels had different number of teeth. For instance, GM casting #3973458 is a 14", 168 tooth flywheel for internally balanced engines, both small block and big block. However, ALL Corvette 327 cid engines used a 12-3/4", 153 tooth flywheel.
